Hello everyone, whomever you may be. My name is Cole. In most respects I'm your average 22 year old American guy, and in a lot of respects I guess that I'm not. I'd say that the part here writing this is the part that isn't so typical; after all how many like me pass through?
One of the things that makes me different is this: I am engaged to a beutiful girl that I love very much who also happens to spend much of her time on approximately the other side of the planet from me. Not easy, to be sure, but certainly not tragic (outside of the possibility of some play or novella). One of our few wishes is to be able to be together for this Christmas, but things are not shaping out to not be that likely. A struggleing pre-med student from the lower end of the economic spectrum does not exactly have the money for a $2000 airtrip very often. Neither does a young foriegn nursing student, while I'm at it.
If there was someone I could ask to help with this, I would. More specifically: if there was some specific individual I had to ask I would do so. I don't have this ability, however, so my mind soon rambled on to a new idea: "Here For the Holidays".
Life and the art that imitates life is full of stories where loved ones are forced seperate at times that they should most be together. And since I as of yet don't see anyone out there helping with this, I'm going to start. "Here For the Holidays" is still in it's infancy, but my general idea is to collect donations and sift through requests and get the people that deserve to be together just like that; together.
